WHAT ADVICE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR ELECTRIC TRICYCLE?

As specialists at DAMIUS, we can tell you that a well-maintained tricycle is a tricycle that functions well and lasts over time.
To maintain it, there is nothing too difficult; it just requires a little attention and common sense. We provide you with all the keys to success in this article!

Regularly maintaining your adult electric tricycle is essential!

First and foremost, we advise you to store your electric tricycle away from bad weather and direct sunlight when not in use. This will prevent the tires from drying out and the paint from fading, as well as stop metal parts from rusting and lubricated parts from seizing.

To maintain your adult tricycle, you will need a minimum of tools such as:

  • A flat-head screwdriver
  • A Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Some common open-end wrenches (8, 10, 13, 17)
  • A set of Allen (BTR) keys
  • A bicycle pump,
  • Some bicycle chain lubricant
  • And some penetrating oil

Few interventions are required, but we still recommend performing certain operations such as:

  • The battery: The battery is the most “sensitive” component, and its maintenance requires a certain rigor, which is why we have dedicated an entire article to it, which you can find here.
  • Tires: Inflate to 2.5 – 3 bars + visual check before each ride. Check regularly and replace when the tread is smooth.
  • Chain and sprockets: Lubrication and inspection every 6 months.
  • Derailleur: Adjustment should ideally be checked every 6 months.
  • Cables and housings: Lubrication every year.
  • Brake pads: Check pad wear monthly and be careful not to spray oil or any lubricating material on the disc or pads.
  • Bearings: Inspection and lubrication every year.
  • Screws: The tightening of all screws should be checked every 3 months.
