What is the purpose of the Nexus derailleur?
The Nexus derailleur is much like a car’s gearbox; the gears are inside a sealed housing rather than being external and exposed like a conventional derailleur.
It allows for easier gear changes, it cannot derail, and it is even possible to change gears while stationary. This is practical when you stop in the wrong gear and want to restart easily by shifting into first!
